Art & Context (pilot snippet)
2018. Created and Produced by Shonna Pryor. The tablecloth assumes a rich traditional context, when a curated group of 3 visual artists (A. Martine Whitehead, Damon Locks, Raymond Thomas) join political analyst Laura Washington for Sunday dinner fellowship within the gallery space of the historic South Side Community Art Center. The moderator and guests of 3 artists per week discuss topic-specific political current affairs such as the institution of mass incarceration, wealth equity, and food security relative to specific marginalized groups, and within the context of art practice. The original treatment proposal for this pilot as a broadcast series was shortlisted for Harvard University's 2017 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellowship Award.
Art & Design in Chicago
